One-day scything course 2021

Structure of the day :

Meet at Catalo at 9h30 for a welcome coffee and general introduction.

Morning is spent setting up your scythe for your personal height and arm length - Learning the basics of honing using a sharpening stone - Scythe safety - The first strokes and some practice runs before lunch at 13h.

An hour for a simple scyther's lunch.

The afternoon introduces the basics of peening, using the peening jig and a demonstration of freehand peening using the peening anvil, followed by an explanation of blade repair and practice in the field until 16h30.

We finish with questions and answers over tea and the chance to order scything equipment.
Cost : 75€ for the day, lunch & equipment provided. Teaching and lunch will be 'socially distanced' according to the current health situation.
COVID : Should national or international regulations mean you are unable to travel or participate in the couse, we offer a full refund of any deposits or money paid before you arrive.
